any qualms with running the Z up there often. Mine never sounds strained when I wrap it out, don't know why yours would...mine seems like it would be happy yo go more. I usually shift where you said, maybe up to 4.5K though. Depends on my mood. Sometimes I loaf along in high gear in town to get decent mileage. If I feel like having "fun" I will drive around 2nd or something where the rpms are up good and everytime I press the gas she launches forward. Most of the time I drive around town at about 2K rpm, whatever gear it may be for the speed I am going because that is where my PE has it's most mellow tone and makes me smile the most. When it is warm out and the windows down/T-tops off I like to drive about 80 in 4th at about 4K rpm. It is almost right up where the powerband really kicks in and it sounds great. Also, all the other ppl with their windows down get to hear the beautiful exhaust note as you sail by them. I played with a late modle MR2 Turbo one day and we played for about 15-20 miles thru light trafiic. He pulled up next to me when I took my exit and said "damn, your exhaust sounds GREAT out there on the highway with my windows down!" I was like "thanks, yous sounded good too, GReddy's?" He had Greddy's also, I was glad when I found out his was a turbo because I certainly wasn't gaining any ground on him, but then again it was just a friendly run and we never went over 100, just enjoying driving moderately fast with another sportscar. That's my favorite kind of driving, not racing some nut in a Civic or 6-cy Rustang or Crapmamro that feels like he has to beat you at any cost and does stupid maneouvers in traffic and cuts ppl off bad, swerves across lanes as fast as he can like he is cool or something, etc. Those ppl scare me to run with because they are on the edge of losing control of their vehicle or making someone esle lose control of theirs and you might end up hitting them. Bottom line is yeah, I run the Z hard sometimes, but wouldn't if it sounded strained. My Jeep sounds god-aweful horrible at anywhere near 3K. It doesn't redlin euntil 4 or 4.5, but I have never had it over 3K in the 6+ years I've owned it because it sounds unhappy there. Sorry about the long, rambling post :-) Mike
 Yeah, I know mine's an N/A! :-)
